Institute Contemporary is a network that both connects and draws attention to Afro-European artists through exhibitions, seminars, readings and talks. The pre curated selection of emerging and young professional artists showcase innovative artworks that challenge the status quo and invite viewers to explore new realms of creativity.

In a world that is challenged on a daily basis and in all possible ways the focus of Institute Contemporary lays on dealing with entrenched structures, such as post-colonial systems, discriminations and related everyday experiences. Therefore the network ensures greater awareness through the connection of african and european cultures while examining the identity and personal affiliation of mixed individuals. Everything revolves around the get-together of culutres and the value of the relevance and visibility. In addition, the network engages with the manifestation of new structures to establish a relevant output in society and thus contribute a sustainable exchange on all human.

Institute Contemporary is committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all. We celebrate diversity and embrace people of all genders, ethnicities, religions, backgrounds, skin colours, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic classes, castes, abilities, and ages. Our work stands firmly against any form of discrimination or harmful behaviour, including sexism, racism, colourism, homophobia, biphobia, interphobia, transphobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, any other religious or non-religious discrimination, fascism, ageism, and ableism. We strive to ensure everyone feels valued and respected, fostering a community where everyone can thrive.
